The Discovery Scientific Council is a multidisciplinary panel of mid-level and senior scientists, many of whom have previously served on an American Cancer Society (ACS) Peer Review Committee. The Council also includes Community Research Partners — people with personal experience with cancer as a survivor or as a family member or caregiver.
Council members play a key role advising the ACS on research programmatic and policy issues. ACS uses their valuable insights to inform decision making across the Discovery pillar.
No member of the ACS Board of Directors may serve on a Peer Review Committee or as a voting member on the Discovery Science Advisory Council.
