Joel and Nancy Solomon

For years, Joel supported the American Cancer Society, believing in the importance of cancer research and care. Little did he know what his future entailed. In December 2023, his support became very personal when he was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. Overnight, his future became uncertain, and every moment with his family felt more precious.

The treatments that gave Joel hope—innovative therapies developed through ACS-funded research—were possible because of the amazing people that donate to the American Cancer Society every day. Joel’s experience is a powerful reminder of the difference generosity makes. Without the advancements in cancer treatment supported by ACS, Joel might not have had the opportunity to plan for a future with his family.

Joel and Nancy have made a tremendous impact – accelerating prostate cancer research and spreading awareness about the importance of prostate cancer screening through their family's transformational support of the American Cancer Society.  Joel has generously dedicated his time leading the Circle of Impact and building a community of ACS donors committed to ensuring other cancer patients have the same chance he did by helping to fund research, treatments, and support services that bring hope to those facing cancer. “I am living proof of the impact our donations can make.
