Why I am a Cancer Researcher at ACS

Knowing that many populations face inequalities in cancer prevention and care due to structural and social determinants of health that are out of their control is my motivation to conduct cancer surveillance and disparity research. The American Cancer Society is a wonderful organization to be a part of because our research is used to save lives through advocacy and patient support programs that address these inequalities.”

At ACS since 2022

Elizabeth Schafer, MPH, is an associate scientist II in Surveillance and Health Equity Science at the American Cancer Society (ACS). She provides analytic and comprehensive literature review support to extend previous novel findings on emerging patterns in cancer occurrence, survival, and disparities.
