As the CEO of Epi One, Inc., Michael Marquardt is leading a cutting-edge biotech startup that is on a mission to revolutionize early cancer detection and accurate diagnosis. With more than 25 years of global experience in health care and technology, Michael has been an advisor to corporations around the world. He is passionate about ending cancer as we know it, for everyone, after losing several loved ones to the disease, including his first wife. Michael serves as a board member, chair, and advisor to several corporations across different industries and regions around the world. Michael is also a Board Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors and a Commissioner for the Future of the American Board. In January 2022, President Biden appointed Michael to serve on the US Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad.
Michael served as chair of the former ACS South Atlantic Division Board, received the Society’s St. George National Award in 2017, served on the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network’s Board of Directors from 2014 to 2022, and the ACS Board of Directors since 2018. Michael currently serves on the Board's Governance Committee and the Human Capital Committee and chairs the Nominating Sub-Committee.
