Video Recording Tips
Thank you for creating a video for us! No professional videography skills are required – in-fact, people love natural, self-shot videos that shows a glimpse of your authentic self. Before you start filming, here are some tips for self-recorded videos.
Shoot vertically, portrait-style on a mobile device or tablet. This allows us to use it on multiple social channels which require different specs. If you are recording with a device other than a smartphone, the file will need to be at least 1200 pixels tall.
Rest the phone against a sturdy surface, using tape if necessary, so the phone does not slide during recording.
Make sure your face and body stays centered in the video during the recording, looking straight into the camera.
During recording, it helps to have your face on the top half of the frame, so we can have space for closed captioning and/or subtitles.
If you face the light source in the room – sunlight or a lamp – this can help soften the video and prevent any harsh shadows or angles on your face.
Make sure the check your background for any clutter or any proprietary/confidential information that could be distracting.
Ready-to-share Alternatives
To ensure that everyone has an opportunity to help us end cancer as we know it, for everyone, we’ve provided content you can share on your channels if recording your own content isn’t possible.
