What Inspires Me
As a two-time cancer survivor, I have seen the impacts cancer can have on a person and their loved ones. My experiences made me want to better understand risk factors and preventative measures that can help people reduce their risk of being diagnosed and improve their quality of life after being diagnosed through proper treatment, care, and support."
At ACS since 2023
Anuj Nanavati, MPH, is associate scientist I in the Data Analysis team within Population Science. He works with external American Cancer Society (ACS) partners and internal principal investigators to provide statistical analysis and modeling for various cancer related research projects utilizing the CPS-II and CPS-3 cohorts' data.
Research focus and accomplishments
Nanavati's research interests include how climate change related events affect various chronic health issues, including cancer, mental health, and CVD. In the past, he worked on projects looking at how wildfire smoke exposure impacted mental health visits in California and the impact of multiple EPA superfund sites (locations polluted with hazardous materials) in a low socio-economic neighborhood.
