Karli Kondo, PhD, MA, is a behavioral scientist and Director of Evidence Synthesis in the Center for Early Cancer Detection Science (CECDS). She leads the Cancer-related Evidence Synthesis Team (CrEST), which conducts systematic reviews to support contemporary ACS cancer screening guidelines.
Kondo, PhD, MA, has conducted systematic reviews and evidence maps on a wide range of clinical and health systems topics for the Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Institutes of Health, and the National Academies of Science Engineering and Medicine. She is especially interested in research examining factors contributing to health disparities among vulnerable populations and culturally responsive interventions to mitigate them.
In addition, Kondo, PhD, MA, also has a passion for research ethics and the protection of human subjects. She has served as Vice-Chair of Oregon Health and Science University’s Institutional Review Board since 2016.
